Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give us a status update on 2.5 and an idea of when it will be released?  What are the issues with it currently?  I'm just getting a little concerned that development on it has stopped or that it's vaporware and really isn't coming.

Thanks,

JH

There is no need to worry , we are finishing up the documentation and fixing a few remaining bugs we have a large base of beta testers who are working with the product.

My problem was that I tried to add features which were requested by my customers and really did not know when to stop until about a month or so ago. That why we are so late.

Not only are we finishing 2.5 but also deal with real time, this project got sidetracked for almost 2 months because Tradebolt when out of business. We currently have another solution for auto trading and real time data, which we feel is even a better solution than tradebolt was.

Yes, I had noticed over the past few months a lot of the posts you had made indicating that new features that other posters had requested were being added to 2.5 so I had suspected that that was what was causing  some of the delay.  Left to run amok I can see how that process could go on forever.  Thanks for the input.

Please consider to add IQFeed as realtime data provider for the realtime version of TradersStudio. I use it now, it is much cheaper than eSignal and very reliable.

It is on the list as part of the second group of vendors to add for real time.

Hi,

I'm looking through the features for 2.5 and am a little perplexed by the value added by the colour report feature. From what I'm reading there is,  in short, no value in it. The reports look like fancy descriptions of what "has" happened based on arbitrarily coded crieria offerin no real insight into profitability.

Surely, the only value comes from taking positions and testing the strategy. Having never come across colour reports before maybe I'm getting the wrong end of the stick. Can someone elaborate?

Thx

D

The color report is just like a system and is coded based on the rules the developer wants to use. It was added as a answer to discressionary traders who wanted to begin to get involved with mechanical solutions.

Here is an example of how this would be used. Let's suppose you are running a quick chart on the whole SP500. You really can't look at 500 charts so you could use a color report and define the trend short term, intermediate term and long term using a color report and view each stock on all three timeframes visually and decide which ones you might want to trade.

Many of the informerical type programs use the Red and Green color buttons to tell you how to trade. This feature allowed system developers to help people who wanted to move on from these programs to more advance platforms.

I see the web site updated to v2.5 which means it is available (shortly). Where can I download it?
