A quick question on testing resolution.

If I'm using weekly bars, is the backtest carried out a daily resolution level?

For example, if a strategy enters when price exceeds the high of a weekly bar on a stop, suppose that on the day that occurred, prices opened far above that high. At weekly resolution, the results would be a fill at the stop price. At a daily resolution, the fill would occur at the open price, far above the stop.

Thanks

No we can not look inside the bar. I recommend that you use daily data as mom and generate signals based on your weekly data. You then have the buy /sells operate on the daily data.

This should do what you want it to.
