Subject: loading independent data streams

Dear Murray/Tech Support,

I can't seem to find anywhere in the manual and/or online help how to actually load an independent data stream from a file into an Array.

Any help or direction appreciated

In chapter 15 the stock system uses a independent data stream.

If your code contains a reference to independent1,independent2 ect it will automaticly ask you to supply the independent data stream data.

Thank you for the reply.  I'm going to look at chapter 15 right now. 

But ss there no way to programatically assign a file to the independent data stream?

If this cannot be done programatically, is it viable to build a Bararray on the fly by programatically reading the data in using FileOpen, ReadLine, rtc.?

Yes of course you can read a file and assign the contents to a bar array, but why not use build in independent data features.

Hi Murray,

okay, I'm good. I thought via your reply that everytime I ran the backtest I'd have to manually assign a data file to the independent data stream. This is not how it works so everything is okay.
