Hi,

I've a basic doubt about the difference between Sell and ExitLong functions.

1. It seems like both of them can be used to exit a long position. If so, what is the difference between them ?

2. For eg., the built-in CHANBREAKOUT system has only buy and sell orders in it. But every sell order closes the previous long trade and opens a new short trade. Then, Is there a way to enter in to a short position along with an existing long position ?

The simple channel breakout with just buys and sells is what is known as a stop and reverse system. If your long a sell exit the long and start a new short position. Exitlong and exitshort only exit a existing open positions

Hi,
If i would like to have a system that enters/exits long and short positions independently(the system is not a SAR), then the sell orde(to enter short position will close the existing long position even though a exitLong command has not yet been given. Since the system is not a SAR, is there a way to avoid that ?

So you are long a given market at the Session level and you get a order to sell ,you don't want to exit the long position, so what do you want to do ?

Be long one and also short one at the same time.
